Worship team and choir shirts have a harder job than most group shirts. Below are 30 phrases sorted by where you'd actually wear them, plus the practical stuff: stage-friendly layouts, what you can and can't quote, and how to get the whole team into shirts without one person collecting sizes.

For Sunday: quiet enough for the platform

On the platform, the shirt shouldn't compete with the service. Short phrases, a small front mark, and nothing that reads as a joke from row twelve.

For the people nobody sees

Every service runs on a booth, a slide deck, and a camera operator. A shirt that names their role is a small thank-you that actually gets worn.

Role shirts for the whole team

Instead of one slogan on everyone, give each section its own line in the same style and color scheme, so the set matches without being identical: SOPRANO / ALTO / TENOR / BASS for the choir, or KEYS / DRUMS / BASS / VOCALS / SOUND / SLIDES for the band. It photographs well at the team picture and nobody has to explain which part they sing.

What you can quote (and what you can't)

This is the part that trips churches up, so here it is plainly:

• Verse references are always fine. "Psalm 100:1" or "Colossians 3:16" on a sleeve is just a citation.
• Full verses: use the KJV. The King James wording is in the public domain in the US. Several modern translations are copyrighted, so we can't print their full text.
• Old hymn phrases are generally safe. Short lines from hymns written in the 1700s and 1800s (think "It is well" or "Amazing grace") are long out of copyright.
• Contemporary worship song lyrics are not. Even a single line from a current song belongs to its writers and publisher. Write your own phrase instead; the list above is a starting point.
• Skip denominational logos or ministry brand marks you don't own.

Stage-friendly design choices

• Small front, statement on the back. The congregation mostly sees the front; the back is for the team photo and the walk out. You choose front or back placement when you order.
• Keep the front simple. Busy all-over art can look noisy on a livestream camera.
• Pick one style for the whole set. A clean Minimal or Heritage look suits a sanctuary better than heavy streetwear graphics, but that's the team's call.
• Consider a hoodie for the booth. Sound booths and early call times run cold.

2. They publish it and drop the link in the team chat.
3. Everyone orders their own size and product: tee $35, oversized tee $39, hoodie $65. No minimum order, no collecting money, no leftover box in the choir room.
4. Each order ships separately with free shipping to US addresses, in 5–10 business days.

The person who shares the link earns 10% of every sale through it (their own order doesn't count). Some teams route that into the music ministry fund for new mic batteries or choir folders. Order-by dates for the Christmas program

If your team wants matching shirts for a Christmas concert or cantata, work backward. Production and shipping take 5–10 business days, and every person orders separately, so give the slowest person a buffer:

• Program on Sunday, December 13: share the link by November 15, ask everyone to order by November 25.
• Program on Sunday, December 20: share by November 22, order by December 2.
• Christmas Eve service: order by December 7 at the latest.

Thanksgiving week slows everyone down, so don't count those days as normal.
