If your feed has served you a raccoon shaped like a bread loaf strutting across a Seattle sidewalk like he owns the block — that's Jimothy. He went viral in July, he has a Wikipedia page now, and he is doing completely fine. Here's the story, why the internet adopted him instantly, and a wearable version we designed in our own studio (with the exact recipe, so you can remix it).

Who is Jimothy?

Jimothy is a wild raccoon living around the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. He has short spine syndrome, which gives him an unmistakable silhouette: a compact, rounded body, no visible neck, and a head that sits directly on his shoulders. A video of him marching across the street — chin up, completely unhurried — was posted by a local resident in July and racked up millions of views within days.

Two things matter before the memes: wildlife vets who reviewed the footage say he's healthy and thriving — short spine syndrome isn't causing him pain, and he forages and climbs like any other raccoon. And he's a wild animal, not anyone's pet. The internet fell in love with him precisely because nothing about him asks for sympathy. He's just… unbothered.

Why this one hit

Plenty of animals go viral. Jimothy stuck because of the walk. The proportions make his legs look long compared to his tiny torso, so his stride reads as a confident strut — half-closed eyes, head high, zero acknowledgment of the camera. People captioned it as the energy they want to bring into meetings, Mondays, and family group chats. Seattle adopted him as an unofficial mascot, fan art showed up within a week, and the meme settled into one word: unbothered.
